Wilderness Magashi Peninsula is an exclusive, ten-bed camp situated in Akagera National Park, Rwanda.
With a focus on privacy, luxury, and conservation, it promises an exceptional and diverse safari experience.
In a class of its own, the camp combines Rwandan-inspired design with contemporary luxury. Elevated for sweeping views, accommodations include 2 spacious twin suites and a sole-use 4-bed private villa. Positioned 200-metres apart, these suites offer an exclusive, peaceful retreat. All rooms feature star beds, perfect for stargazing or sleeping under the stars with unobstructed views of the surrounding area.
The camp and position of the suites have excellent viewing opportunities of the resident wildlife, including hippos and crocodiles in the lake, and buffalo, elephant and general wildlife moving freely on the Magashi Peninsula.

Wilderness Magashi Peninsula - Birding
After an early breakfast in camp, gear up for a thrilling bird watching experience. Akagera National Park is renowned as one of the best birding areas in the world with more than 500 species recorded here. A bird count comparable with the larger Kruger National Park. Rarities include the papyrus gonolek (restricted to the papyrus swamps), the localised red-faced barbet, and the swamp flycatcher.
Wilderness Magashi Peninsula - Boating *
Two luxurious pontoons and a swamp cruiser enable scenic lake outings, picnic lunches, and sunset cocktails. Wildlife viewing from the water is exceptional, with regular sightings of rhino, elephant, and buffalo, and even leopard and lion on occasion.* Possible year round.
Wilderness Magashi Peninsula - Fishing
Fishing on a catch-and-release basis only is permitted year-round, with the camp providing basic fishing equipment.

After-dark game viewing with filtered spotlights allows guests the chance to see intriguing nocturnal animals.
