There is no timetable for a Mara River crossing. Herds can gather at the river for hours, hesitating at the banks before one animal finally commits and the rest follow. In the height of the Great Migration, these sudden, dramatic crossings can see thousands of wildebeest and zebra take on the river’s strong currents and waiting crocodiles. Drift silently above the Mara at first light, as the plains awaken beneath a wash of gold and amber. Rising with the dawn, guests glide over herds of wildebeest, buffalo and elephant, tracing the paths of ancient migration routes from a vantage point few ever experience. * Offered by nearby operator, Governors’ Balloon Safaris, this activity is weather permitting and at extra cost.
Wilderness Mara – Game Drives *
Guests can look forwads to morning and afternoon game drives in search of the Mara's exceptional wildlife. In keeping with Masai Mara National Park regulations, night drives) are not offered. * Mara Triangle Park regulations do not permit a game drive on the morning of departure unless an additional day's park fee has been paid. This is strictly enforced by rangers, with no exceptions made in camp. Guests wishing to enjoy a final morning game drive before departure must pay an additional day's park fee. This can be arranged in camp, however, is strongly recommended to pre-arrange and pre-pay at the time of booking to avoid any potential delays at the park gate.
