Day 1

Nairobi to Amboseli

You will be met at the airport or your hotel in Nairobi by our office representative for a safari briefing. You will then be introduced to your driver guide. Depart for Amboseli, driving southwards to arrive on time for lunch at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge. Have a relaxed afternoon in your room viewing Kilimanjaro or at the swimming pool. Enjoy an afternoon game drive at the famous Amboseli National Park. It is renowned for its large herds of free-roaming African elephants. There are over 900 African elephants in Amboseli, huge herds of wildebeests and many other animals, including giraffes, African lions, monkeys, zebras, hyenas and antelopes. With its awesome view of Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa's highest mountain at 5,895m), Amboseli National Park offers a unique and breathtaking backdrop for viewing Africa's animals. It also has a dry lake basin that houses a temporary lake, Lake Amboseli, after the rains. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Afterwards, take a moment to freshen up and relax before heading out on an afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve, where you’ll have great chances of spotting big cats across the sweeping savannah and catching a stunning African sunset. The Mara boasts one of the richest concentrations of wildlife, home to the “Big Five” (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalos), along with zebras, antelopes, gnus, oribis, hyenas, giraffes, warthogs, gazelles, hartebeests, hippos, crocodiles, and more. It also has the largest population of African lions, including the impressive black-maned variety. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at Sarova Mara Game Camp.

These include lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards and rhinos. The ultimate adventure is, of course, the annual wildebeest migration in July and August, when millions of wildebeest move from the Serengeti into the Mara in search of lusher grass before turning back again in October. You will break to have a picnic lunch at a designated place in the jungle. Thereafter, you will enjoy more game viewing as you return to your camp in the evening.
