Our 4-day Explorer Lodge safari is one of our top-selling mid-range safari packages. It is based in a small, simple, naturally luxurious, and authentic safari camp in the Balule Private Game Reserve. On this package, you will enjoy guided off-road open vehicle safari drives in the Big 5 game reserve.

Johannesburg to the Bundox Explorer Camp

Included: * Collection from the Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport Bus Terminal at 7:00 am * Guided afternoon safari drive in the Balule Private Game Reserve * Tented accommodation Departing from the Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport Bus Terminal by 7:00 am, you will travel east through the farmlands and on to the Kruger National Park. It’s a 5 to 6-hour drive from Johannesburg to Bundox Explorer Lodge in the Balule Private Game Reserve. You will travel to the town of Hoedspruit, with scheduled stops for bathroom breaks and leg stretches. You will arrive at midday in the Balule Private Game Reserve and book into the Bundox Explorer Lodge. Enjoy a light meal and freshen up before departing late afternoon for a game drive on an open safari vehicle. You'll have sundowners at a special vantage point.

Guided Morning and Afternoon Safari Drives

Included: * Guided morning and afternoon safari drive * Breakfast, lunch and dinner * Opportunity to see the Big 5 * Tented accommodation You'll spend glorious days relaxing at the camp, sandwiched between an early morning and late afternoon game drive with sundowners at a special vantage point. Safaris are conducted on the private Balule Game Reserve, offering a wonderful opportunity to find the Big 5 and other animals that inhabit the reserve. Enjoy a 3-hour sunrise game drive in Balule Private Game Reserve. You'll return for a hearty breakfast, relax around the camp, birdwatch at a hide or join a ranger for a guided bush walk. Depart late in the afternoon for a sunset game drive.

04Day 4

Day 4

Morning Safari drive and Return to Johannesburg

Included: * Morning open-vehicle safari drive * Breakfast * Transfer to the O.R. Tambo Airport Bus Terminal arriving between 5:30 and 6 pm. Set off as the sun rises for your last game drive in Balule Game Reserve. Enjoy a late breakfast on your return before checking out. We depart late morning for the return journey to Johannesburg. You'll arrive at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg late afternoon (approx. 5 pm).
