Journey overview

This 3-night traverse takes place exclusively in the Central Tuli Game Reserve of Botswana. An incredible wildlife location famous for its large elephant herds. You’ll explore the lesser-known areas of this park to get a true wilderness experience and a feeling of remoteness not found in many other places. You'll ride along the elephant paths as they meander between the outcrops and dry stream beds that lead to the natural springs and the mighty Limpopo River at the base of the valley.

Day 1

Arrival - Tuli Botswana

We meet early in Johannesburg then get into our transfer vehicle headed for the Platjan border post in South Africa to start our Botswana adventure. Once we are done with our meet and greet, we load up our transfer vehicle and get ready for our cycle through the border and into Botswana. Our adventure start as we get on our bikes as we ride over the Limpopo River and straight into the Botswana wilderness. A scenic ride takes us straight into out home for the next 3 nights, Koro Island Camp. Ride Details: ~45 km, 5hrs Afternoon Activity: Sundowner on the lodge deck Accommodation: Koro Island Camp.

02Day 2

Day 2

Central Tuli Wilderness

After a warm cup of coffee we head North into the wilderness area to explore this magical place. We’ll pass the salt pans that are loved by elephant as the open areas make way to the rocky outcrops. We’ll stop for a break at one of the natural springs before we descend to the river and meander along the beautiful paths of the Limpopo back to our exclusive Island Camp. Ride Details: ~50 km, 5hrs Afternoon Activity: Sundowner Bush Walk/ Game Drive Accommodation: Koro Island Camp.

03Day 3

Day 3

Central Tuli Wilderness

We’ll wake up on our private island in the Limpopo before we head out to explore the Koro conservancy. The elephant paths and jeep tracks take us between the waterholes and viewpoints to our bush breakfast spot. From here, we descend back down to the flowing paths beneath the giant Mashatu trees. After a relaxing afternoon, we’re off for a special sundowner on our last Botswana evening. Ride Details: ~40 km, 4hrs Afternoon Activity: Sundowner Game Drive Accommodation: Koro Island Camp.

04Day 4

Day 4

Depart - Johannesburg

We love getting in one more ride before we depart. A quick coffee and we’re off for a final loop of the Central Tuli Reserve. Then it’s time for our journey back into South Africa as we cross the Platjan border post and head back to Johannesburg. Ride Details (optional): ~15 km, 1.5hrs.
