Depart Nairobi early and travel southeast through Kenya's changing landscapes toward the Taita Hills. The journey passes through rural countryside and scenic terrain before reaching the wildlife-rich sanctuary surrounding Salt Lick Safari Lodge. On arrival, check in and settle into your elevated accommodation overlooking the wildlife waterhole. After lunch and some time to relax, enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and predators. The waterhole near the lodge can also provide excellent wildlife viewing as animals come to drink. Taita Hills Wildlife Experience

Rise early for a morning game drive when wildlife is generally most active. Explore the sanctuary's different habitats with your professional guide, searching for elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, lions, and other wildlife. The sanctuary's varied ecosystem also supports more than 300 recorded bird species, making the morning particularly rewarding for photographers and birdwatchers. Return to the lodge for relaxation before enjoying another wildlife experience later in the day. You can choose an afternoon game drive, spend time observing the waterhole, or arrange an optional night game drive for a different perspective of the sanctuary. Optional experiences such as a bush breakfast, bush dinner, sundowner, or picnic can also be arranged subject to availability. Enjoy a final morning wildlife experience in Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary before beginning your journey back to Nairobi. Search for elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife while enjoying the peaceful morning atmosphere. Alternatively, spend some time observing wildlife around the lodge's waterhole before checking out. After departure, travel through Kenya's scenic countryside toward Nairobi. Arrive in the capital later in the day, concluding your Salt Lick wildlife escape with memorable encounters and beautiful wilderness scenery.
