Located in the north-western corner of South Africa, Madikwe is the 4th largest private game reserve and home to the Big Five and thriving wild dog populations. You'll enjoy luxury suites perched on Tweedepoort Ridge, overlooking lush gorges and vast savannah plains. The lodge is decorated in natural colors and textures, creating a warm and comforting atmosphere.

Johannesburg to Madikwe Game Reserve

You will be picked up early in Johannesburg or Pretoria and enjoy a private transfer to Madikwe Game Reserve. The journey takes approximately 4.5 hours to the game reserve. You'll arrive at Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge late morning. You will settle into your luxury suite; relax and freshen up before it’s time to depart for the late-afternoon game drive. Game drives are in an open safari vehicle with a professional ranger. You will return to the lodge after an exciting night drive and enjoy a starlit dinner at the outdoor boma or in the lodge dining room.

02Day 2

Day 2

Morning and Sunset Safari

You will wake up early for hot beverages. Then, you'll depart for a 3-hour sunrise game drive. You will return to the lodge for breakfast and spend the rest of the day relaxing on the wooden deck or in your air-conditioned suite. Be ready to depart after high tea for the late afternoon game drive and return for dinner well after dark.

03Day 3

Day 3

Morning Safari and Departure

You'll wake up early for hot beverages. Then, you'll depart for your last game drive in Madikwe. You will return for a hearty breakfast; pack up and be ready to leave midmorning for a private transfer back to Johannesburg. You’ll be dropped off at your accommodation in Johannesburg at approximately 5:00 pm.
