Umkumbe Safari Lodge is located on the banks of the Sand River in the world-renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve. You may see the “Big Five” in one of the nicest settings in all of southern Africa if you travel to Umkumbe. Because it is run by its owners, your 3-day stay at Umkumbe Safari Lodge will be genuine, homey, and authentically South African. The seasonal Sand River is visible from most of the ten chalets and rooms.

Johannesburg to the Sabi Sands Game Reserve

You will be picked up in Johannesburg from the Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport Bus Terminal by 7:00 am. You'll be driven east along the N4 motorway through the Gauteng and Mpumalanga Highveld, down the escarpment, and into the scenic Lowveld to the reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park. The drive will take about six hours, with stops for refreshments. After arriving at the lodge around midday, you will have time to freshen up and relax before embarking on your first-afternoon game drive in reserve in an open safari vehicle. A delicious starlit dinner will be served at the lodge if the weather permits.

Day 2

Morning and Afternoon Open Vehicle Safari Drives

You will be woken up early and have enough time for a hot beverage and rusks before departing on a 3-hour game drive to see the sunrise in the east. After brunch, you can spend the rest of the day at the pool or lazing around before heading out for an afternoon game drive with an expert guide. You'll be returning in time for another dinner under the stars. You'll stay in the luxurious Umkumbe Safari Lodge and your package includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

03Day 3

Day 3

Morning Safari Drive and Return to Johannesburg

You'll get up early, grab a hot beverage and rusk, and head out on your final morning game drive. You'll return to the lodge for breakfast after witnessing the sunrise before departing for Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport. You will arrive at your drop-off location at around 5:00 pm.
