Located in the north-western corner of South Africa, Madikwe is the 4th largest private game reserve and home to the Big Five and thriving wild dog populations. You'll enjoy luxury suites perched on Tweedepoort Ridge, overlooking lush gorges and vast savannah plains. The lodge is decorated in natural colors and textures, creating a warm and comforting atmosphere.

Johannesburg to Madikwe Private Game Reserve

You will be picked up early in Johannesburg or Pretoria and enjoy a private transfer to Madikwe Game Reserve. The journey takes approximately 4.5 hours to the game reserve. You will arrive at Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge late morning. You'll settle into your luxury suite; relax and freshen up before it’s time to depart for the late afternoon game drive. Game drives are in an open safari vehicle with a professional ranger. You will return to the lodge after an exciting evening drive and enjoy a starlit dinner at the outdoor boma or in the lodge dining room.

Day 2

Morning Safari and Departure

You'll wake up early for hot beverages. Then, you'll depart for your last game drive in Madikwe. You'll return for a hearty breakfast; pack up and be ready to leave mid-morning for a private transfer back to Johannesburg or Pretoria. You’ll be dropped off at your accommodation in Johannesburg or Pretoria at approximately 5:00 pm.
