This quaint, quiet lodge offers a universal approach to guests needs allowing for small groups, honeymooners, couples, single travellers and is ideal for exclusive use bookings by families. The comfortable lounge and open-plan dining area leads to an elevated outdoor deck which is the perfect place to take in the magnificent sounds of the African Bush. The lodge’s very private family size swimming pool offers guests a home-away-from home setting and with the waterhole closely situated makes for enthusiastic game opportunities.
All Suites at Waterbuck Lodge have been perfectly positioned to afford privacy. With a choice of 4 spacious, fully air-conditioned Suites all with generous bathrooms and an outdoor shower, spectacular views of the African bushveld are easily accessible. Daybeds situated on the outdoor deck area allow guests a relaxing and comfortable way to unwind between game drives, taking in the African Sun.
At night, the lodge comes alive with an abundance of night lights perfectly set up around the lodge and leading to the Boma where fire side dining is an African art-form. Meals are an occasion to be celebrated open-air style.

Early morning and late afternoon game drives
Start your day with coffee, tea, and traditional rusks before setting off on an unforgettable open-vehicle safari with our expert guides and trackers. Encounter Africa’s iconic wildlife, discover the secrets of the bushveld, and experience nature through every sense.After time to relax at the lodge, head out again for an afternoon game drive that transitions into the magic of the night, where nocturnal wildlife emerges under the glow of torchlight. Each three-hour safari includes refreshments and snacks enjoyed at a scenic stop in the wilderness.
Guided bush walks
After a sumptuous Breakfast is served either back at the camp or in the riverbed or bush, guests are offered walks to suit their interests and fitness levels and are accompanied by an armed ranger and tracker.Walks allow guests a better chance to see some of the smaller creatures of the bush as well as an opportunity to learn more about the flora and fauna of the region & to have a chance to follow tracks in more detail.Our Shangaan trackers will enthral you with their explanations of the medicinal and other uses of the numerous plants and trees along with tales of traditional folklore.No children under 16 years of age. Walks are per lodge managements discretion.
Hot Air Balloon Excursion
One-hour long flight over the scenic, Lowveld section of the Blyde River. As the sun rises, the landscape, the vegetation and, if you're lucky, some wildlife will provide photo opportunities. Game spotting cannot be guaranteed but on most flights, we see plains game such as giraffe and wildebeest. Terms & Conditions apply - additional cost.
