Overview
The Vishuis guesthouse consists of a series of renovated and modernized fishermen’s cottages located in Hermanus Old Town. Right in the middle of Hermanus village, but in a quiet back road.
Hermanus started in the early 1800s as source of grazing for cattle and soon a flourishing fishing industry was born. The early inhabitants built the beautiful fishermen’s cottages in the tradition of Cape Georgian workers cottages. The Hermanus Old Town is a collection of these beautiful original cottages.
he Vishuis guests have the privilege of experiencing living in the humble fishermen’s cottages, but with the comfort and luxury of modern amenities. The cottages are eclectically decorated and feature a collection of contemporary art by South African artists.
The Garden Cottage is a darling 2 bedroomed semi detached fisherman’s cottage. It has a lounge, dining/kitchen, and a bathroom. It has its own private garden with a pergola and braai. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need including a microwave and Nespresso machine. It is tastefully decorated with old Cape country furniture, beautiful artworks and playful contemporary touches.
