Serengeti Safari Camp West
Overview
Nomad Tanzania's Serengeti Safari Camp was the first of it’s kind.
It was designed with a purpose in mind; to be in the best possible location to view the wildebeest migration as it covers hundreds of miles of the Serengeti National Park each year. So it should come as no surprise that it really hasn't changed much since it's early pioneering days.
The wildebeest move and this is what our Serengeti Safari Camp is all about - understanding the Serengeti seasons and game movements and mirroring them.
Each year, this little camp casts off from Lamai Serengeti and begins its own odyssey. Covering hundreds of miles and moving every couple of months (not during your stay) along a route that the herds have travelled for hundreds of years, Serengeti Safari Camp is where you come for your migration fix.
Since the days in the early 90s when this little camp started, it's been much copied, but never equalled. It is effortlessly comfortable - a home from home, where you want for nothing. But it's never been about luxury for its own sake. From the outset the focus has been clear. To deliver a superlative experience of the extraordinary wildlife in this part of the world without damaging the environment that has so inspired us over the years.
This is why Nomad have always worked with the best guides and always kept their camps small, intimate and simple.

Serengeti Safari Camp
Each year the Serengeti plays host to one of the greatest wildlife phenomena in the world. 1.5 million wildebeest travel hundreds of kilometers in an endless cycle of life. From the rich grazing where they drop their young in the southern plains to the drama of the Mara River, the migration is a year round spectacle.
Activities
What you can do
Game drives in search of the migration
The priority from Serengeti Safari Camp is usually to find the Great Migration. You'll set off early morning in a shared vehicle with one of our exceptional Nomad guides in search of the herds, and the plethora of other wildlife that call the Serengeti home. Depending on what everyone in your group fancies doing for the day, you'll either return for lunch in camp, before heading out again in the afternoon. Or, you may all decide to take a picnic lunch with you and spend the whole day exploring the Serengeti. We always recommend that you consider a private car and guide so there are no limits to your game viewing – as you wont be sharing the vehicle with anyone else, you’ll be able to indulge your own interests…without having to endure other peoples.
