There really is nothing like a nip of good wine to ease into the late afternoon while you explore the gardens, admiring the gorgeous Cape Dutch architecture that is easy on the eye.
Explore the V&A
The V&A Waterfront is arguably the most-visited spot in Cape Town, with an array of restaurants, cafes, bars, galleries, boutiques, markets and a vibrant shopping centre to cater to everyone’s tastes. Find a spot along the wharf with views of the mountain and enjoy some fresh fish and chips. Explore Chavonne’s Battery and the Maritime Museum, or catch the ferry to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years.
Gym/Sauna
Don’t abandon your fitness regime when you’re far from home. Explore the fully equipped gym at the Peninsula All-Suite Hotel where you can enjoy the services of a personal trainer by appointment, who is also a sports therapist and offers remedial massage therapy. After a busy workout, or even after a jog down the Sea Point promenade, unwind and detox in our private sauna
Head down the Peninsula
Park your car in the secure parking area offered by The Peninsula All-Suite Hotel, then take a day excursion along the Cape Peninsula. Head to the Cape Point, situated in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve which boasts rich and varied fauna and flora, as well as over 250 species of birds, various buck, Cape mountain zebras and of course, baboons. Hitch a ride on the Flying Dutchman Funicular to get the best panoramic views from the lighthouse.
Heated Swimming Pool
The heated pool is accessed off the gym on the first floor and there are regular water aerobics classes offered by Moira Mahon.
Hike Table Mountain and Lion's Head
Cape Town is a hotspot for hiking enthusiasts. Start by stretching your legs by heading up Table Mountain on foot, then take the Cableway down, or try a somewhat easier route up Lion’s Head just in time for the sunset. It gets even easier if you take on the routes down the Contour Path or Pipe Track. If you’re a real beginner, simply head across the road from The Peninsula All-Suite Hotel. Enjoy a casual stroll along the Sea Point Promenade and don’t forget to make a mandatory ice-cream pit stop.
Journey to Robben Island
The boats heading to Robben Island depart from the V & A Waterfront which is conveniently close to the Peninsula All-Suite Hotel. History enthusiasts will appreciate that the tours are led by former prison warders who will provide insight into the background of the island, as well as showing you Nelson Mandela’s prison cell where he was imprisoned for 27 years. You will also get to experience a bus tour of the island.
Play with the Penguins
Make a stop at Boulders Beach, renowned for its African penguins. Dressed to the nines in their black and white “tuxedos”, these cute little birds really know how to draw a crowd. The granite boulders, after which the beach is named, protect it from the wind and large waves, making it an ideal swimming spot if you’re brave enough to take a dip in the icy waters of the Atlantic
See the City Centre
Take the Peninsula All-Suite Hotel’s free shuttle into the vibrant city centre. Here, you can pound the streets of Loop, Long or Bree, eating your way through a plethora of restaurants and picking up some new souvenirs at the contemporary art galleries and antique shops. If you are looking for some authentic arts and crafts head to the ever bustling Greenmarket Square, where local African traders sell their handmade crafts. If you’re up for some history, a visit to the Iziko Slave Lodge comes highly recommended.
Swimming Pool
Soak up the sea air while taking a dip in one of our luxurious swimming pools.

Venture through Kirstenbosch
Be sure to visit the Kirstenbosch Gardens which is one of the seven most magnificent botanical gardens in the world. It is renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape flora it displays and for the magnificence of its setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. Take an in-depth guided tour of the grounds that starts from the Visitors' Centre (Gate 1) at 10h00, 11h00 and 14h00 Monday to Friday, and at 10h00 on Saturdays.
Visit Camps Bay
Heading along the Atlantic Seaboard from this Sea Point hotel, you’ll find yourself in the glamorous suburb of Clifton, an area characterised by impressive luxury condos with extraordinary sea views. Venture along the coast to the playground of Camps Bay. Grab a front-row seat at one of the trendy bars or cafes that spill out along Ocean Drive and catch a glimpse of the sun worshipers, revving their engines and strutting their stuff in the latest fashion.
