Overview

Nasikia Camps presents Kaskaz Mara Camp, a short drive from Kogatende Airstrip and the exciting Mara River viewing area. 'Coo!' from the Mourning Dove outside as they flutter in the dew.

'Snuffle! Splutter! Grunt! Honk!' before the Splash! and Shake! from the Blue Wildebeest as they run the gauntlet of the Mara River. The ten tented suites are superbly located facing the Nyamalumbwa Hills to provide a quiet base for optimal migration viewing all through out the year. With large netted windows and draped roofing in each suite for Serengeti-style air conditioning, cotton curtains dancing on the breeze, oversized beds, indoor and out door furnishings of style, expansive floor space, great hardwood double vanities, handcarved decor with Swahili flair. The camp is available for drive in or game package clients, all while taking special care to illustrate the unique environment they are welcomed to. Tailoring the tents with room configurations from honeymooners to larger families, the camp personnel are on call 24 hours to ensure that everyone is content in their stunning environment. The camp shares an array of meal options, from early morning bush breakfasts to leisurely in camp lunches under shadey acacias to four course delectable dinners. A fireside Gin & Tonic is never amiss.

Activities

Wildlife Viewing/bird watching/ Balloon Safaris and Explore the intriguing wilderness on foot

Wildlife viewing and bird watching game drives within the northern Serengeti are offered twice per day when guests stay on game package. Experienced guides encourage guests to see and experience the Serengeti through their eyes, sharing a world of small and large wonders that only they truly know and understand. Balloon safaris are a romantic and evocative way of experiencing the wilderness of East Africa, as you silently fly over the plains teeming with herds of wildlife in the early morning. Typically, a balloon safari begins around 6 am and lasts for around 1-2 hours. Balloon safaris (additional cost) in the Serengeti take off from designated sites in the nearby Seronera area. The safari is followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush, a fitting end to a memorable flight in the wild. Explore the intriguing wilderness on foot with our in-house armed walking guide; follow the tracks, smell the herds on the breeze and hear the crunch of fauna underfoot.Ideally these are at dawn and dusk, before and after the heat and stillness which prevails around the middle of the day when the animals (and most people) take a rest. Our bush guides have a wealth of insightful experience and they will fascinate you with bush-wise facts, wildlife know-how, local customs and incredible stories of life in the wilderness.
