Ideal for families or groups, the Casa Familia features a main guest room with a lounge area and two interleading rooms on each side. Designed to capture the splendor and solitude of the desert, just ten stone and glass suites spread out along the curve of the escarpment, allowing absolute privacy. Each air conditioned glass-fronted suite is designed to complement the expansive views of the different habitats, perfectly framed from the spacious internal areas. Featuring a private veranda, bedroom with retractable skylights for in-bed star-gazing, a living room with a fireplace, an ensuite bathroom with a glass-encased rain shower offering 180º views, and a perfectly-positioned private plunge pool for some sublime respite after a long day in the desert heat.
All suites include star-viewing skylights, discrete music systems and customised personal bars. One of the most innovative features of the accommodation design is the way in which the extremes of the natural environment are harnessed to create energy and recycle waste water. Each suite is like its own solar power plant, producing enough energy to not only power the air conditioning, and all the super-comforts of a luxury lodge, but also the water treatment and recycling systems.
Star Dune suite

Family Cottage
The lodge boasts three family cottages, each consisting of two suites that are conveniently interlinked via a door for easy access. The cottages exude a romantic colonial ambiance with nostalgic safari memorabilia throughout. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows make the most of sunny safari days and a private veranda offers the perfect setting for private dinners. Guests can also take advantage of spacious ensuite bathrooms as well as inviting al fresco showers. The cottages can accommodate two adults and two children.
Family Suite
Situated in the shade of a weeping boerbean tree on the banks of the seasonal Maponi River, the family suite at andBeyond Ngala Safari Lodge consists of two ensuite bedrooms, as well as a cosy dining area. The suite also entitles guests to the services of a dedicated butler, as well as a ranger and tracker team and a private safari vehicle. The only guest suite at the lodge with views of the river, each room boasts its own private deck overlooking the shaded riverbed and even the bathrooms look out onto the dense riverside thickets. The addition of a fully sized private swimming pool ensures that both children and adults have a secluded place to cool off from the African sun. The family suite can accommodate a maximum of two adults and two children.

andBeyond Ngala Tented Camp has nine luxurious tented suites set on raised platforms with outdoor showers, baths mounted on rough-hewn wooden bases, swirling overhead fans, air conditioning, electric blankets for winter and private wooden decks. Built on platforms, each tented suite is cleverly designed to blend into the riverside trees, minimising impact on the environment.
