Morning and evening drives are performed in covered 4×4 game viewers conducted by highly experienced rangers.
Traversing through the concession, the wildlife is sometimes staggering in its diversity. Enthralling sightings of elephants, a sea of buffalo horns rising from the grass as they lie resting in the growing heat as well as prides of lions, awaits one.
At dusk, a vantage point is chosen overlooking one of the many breathtaking vistas of the Kruger National Park. Sundowners are enjoyed while tales of the bush are told and a glimpse of what this unique wilderness has to offer is seen while being entranced by the ever-changing colours of the sky as the sun slips into the timeslot of tomorrow. En route back to the lodge, nocturnal animals such as leopard, hyena and lion are often seen.
Walking Safari’s are encouraged, after a hearty breakfast, moving through the veld enjoying vistas of unsurpassed beauty and discovering one’s place in the cycle of nature. The diversity of fauna and flora in this unique concession truly comes alive when viewed on foot.
- Transfers to and from the concession can be arranged with reservations on request at an additional cost.
- Transfers to and from Skukuzu Airport can be arranged with reservations on request at an additional cost. Transfers between Jock Safari Lodge and Skukuza are done by Jock Safari Lodge in an open game viewing vehicle.
- Terms and Conditions relating to road transfers apply and are available on request/as addendum to this document.
- All road transfers are handled by accredited car hire and charter companies.
- All transfers must be arranged prior to arrival.
- Self-drive and road transfers from Kruger Mpumalanga Airport (KMIA/MQP) are subject to Kruger National Park gate times.
- The Kruger National park prohibits the use of roads within the park once the gates are closed therefore guests need to be at their destination and transfer companies must be outside the park by the time the gates close.
- Jock Safari Lodge is approximately one (1) hour from the Malelane Gate and therefore we recommend that flights to/from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA/MQP) are booked to:
- arrive at KMIA/MQP no later than 14h30 on day of arrival
- depart from KMIA/MQP no earlier than 10h00 on day of departure
- No alternative arrangements can be made.

From OR International Airport (jhb):
- Exit the airport through O R Tambo Airport Road
- Follow the R21 signs, once on the R21 keep on the left lane
- Continue along the R21 and at Rietfontein link into the left lane which merges onto the N12
- Continue along the N12 as it eventually merges into the N4
- Take the N4 straight through Nelspruit and Malelane
- At about 2 km outside Malelane is the R570 to the left
- Take the R570 straight past the Malelane Gate and onto Malelane-Skukuza Road
- Continue along Malelane-Skukuza Road for about 37 km then take the dirt road on the left
- Take the dirt road for about 3 km, the destination is at the end
